About the department
The faculty of science was established in 1996 after twenty years of establishment of S.V. Government P. G. College Lohaghat. Initially we have subjects at graduation level only then we got masters in Chemistry (M. Sc. Chemistry), Botany (M. Sc. Botany) and Zoology (M. Sc. C Botany) in 2008 and Masters in Physics (M. Sc. Physics) and Mathematics (M. Sc. Mathematics) in 2018. Apart from being one of the most prestigious faculty in our district that runs M.Sc. It also offers Ph.D. programmes. The department not only organizes various guest lecture series by eminent scientists/professors for P. G. students but has also conducted several seminars, symposia and workshops. The teaching faculty of the Department has some minor research projects from UGC, CSIR, UCOST, USERC and DST which have produced novel results. At undergraduate level, it has a six-semester degree course and the postgraduate course structure is of four semesters
